Day... something of hunting...I am so tired

Yesterday it rained so no hunting, drove into town and went shopping.

Also bought 2

Timber Ridge Tripod Folding Stool, Camo $9.99 each

And another box of Winchester Super-X .270 Win 130-Grain Power-Point Rifle Ammunition $23.49 as we used most of our 1st box trying to dial the rifle in.

Today, Still no, deer, saw 14 in the field this morning including a bachelor herd of 8 but couldn't get an angle to shoot them.

Same as this evening, there was a spike and 6 does/fawns but no angle.

Part 2

Saw 71 cows, 2 chickens, 2 bunnies, 5 grouse.... nnnn nothing.

Hunting has begun!

With 1 day of travel and 2 days of cleaning! Just to make sure we didn't get some form of sickness from staying where we are. I gagged at one point....GAGGED.

Went to sight in the guns and found out that Italian Sporting Goods screwed up mounting our scope on our 270 and we couldn't sight it in...or get it even close...or even within feet of the target.

So popped into a gunsmith up here and had him take a look at it. 1/2 a day wasted, 17 rounds and $40 later we now have a sighted in rifle.

Took a Grouse with the .22 tonight. Yay first time I have shot anything.

Deer not 50 feet from us while we were outside.

Here we go!

So I am just your average Vancouver, BC girl.

In the past few years I have accompanied my boyfriend/his friends/his dad when they have gone hunting.

From watching I have learned how to field dress and skin a deer, clean and skin a rabbit and tanned it too! I have shot a .22 and well I am a pretty good shot. Now I feel that I can do more.

Last year I took my Possession and Acquisition course $160 and passed so now I may own a gun. Just last week I passed my Conservation and Outdoor Recreation Education (CORE) course $175 so now I can get a hunting license.

On Wednesday of last week I purchased a Tikka T3 Lite 270, with a Leupold VX-1 (3-9x40).  I now realize getting setup for hunting is not going to be a cheap en-devour.  The gun, the scope, a soft case, a strap, scope mounts and mounting have run me approx $1500 and we bought it at Italian Sporting Goods.

Picture is blurry.... better ones to come.

I still have a long list of things I need to purchase before our first trip out Sept 15th-21st.
